GBS understands and can assist in the process of developing a Senior Care Living campus from Site Acquisition, Conceptual Design to Construction Documents, Construction, Outfitting medical equipment and furniture, Commissioning with the Department of Aging and Disability Services, Project Close Out

Our Residential services range from new home build and renovation.  GBS is able to guide a client from Design through Construction, and into Project Closeout.  From the smallest of renovation needs or repairs to a complete remodel involving expansion, GBS can take care of your home.

GBS constructs commercial projects including Concrete tilt-up, Heavy Gauge Steel, and Light Gauge Metal framing.  GBS will also procure and install all FF&E.

GBS works with multiple agencies within the Federal Government for construction and outfitting needs.  GBS has the ability and qualifications construct new buildings, renovate existing facilities, procure FF&E, and install FF&E.

Management

GBS applies their knowledge, skills, tools, and technique to forecast activities to meet project requirements. GBS is sometimes used as a Construction Manager subcontractor for Owners & Developers in managing their construction needs in addition to be the prime General Contractor.

There are a lot of moving pieces and parts associated with a Capital Project that must be managed and completed in a timely manner in order to have a successful project.

Planning

The key objective of Strategic Planning is to ensure that there is a clear strategic and financial basis for the development of the project. This particular phase is essential to the success of your project and should always be completed before project launch phase.

The key objective during this phase is to select and organize the Project Delivery Team and to establish and obtain client approval of scope, schedule, and budget for the project. It is paramount that the Strategic Plan and Project Launch Phases are completed before entering the design of the intended Design Build project and a must before entering the Construction phases. This process sets the framework to allow those later phases to be completed smoothly and efficiently, and increases the overall likelihood of project success.

Construction Methods

Guidon Building Solutions is capable in buildings within both delivery methods.

Design/build: Under this method, an owner typically hires a single entity, the design/builder, to perform both design and construction under a single contract. Portions or all of the design and construction may be performed by the entity or subcontracted to other companies. DB is characterized by high levels of collaboration between the design and construction disciplines, input from multiple trades into the design, and a single entity bearing project risk. Typically, the general contractor is responsible contractually for this delivery method.

Design-bid-build: This is the most traditional process in the U.S. construction industry, where the owner contracts separately with a designer and a contractor. The design firm is hired to deliver 100 percent complete design documents. The owner or agent then solicits fixed price bids from contractors to perform the work. Designers and contractors bear no contractual obligation to one another and the owner bears all risk associated with the completeness of the design documents.

Outfitting & Transition

GBS has the capability to order all new FF&E, warehouse the FF&E, and install it within the correct offices, laboratories, medical facilities.  The GBS can pack your files, personnel belongings, medical equipment, and reuse FF&E.    

In conjunction with the planning the FF&E, GBS will also develop personnel staff plans to detail their logistics into their new workplace.
